Dr. Dache-Gerbino’s research agenda consists of employing postcolonial methodology and critical theory to study college access and transition of populations of the African diaspora, specifically transnational Black, African-American and Latin@ students. Her work re-conceptualizes racializations, political economy and geography within informal and formal educational spaces. She employs Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to understand college accessibility for students at community colleges, for-profit colleges and selective public and private institutions. Her research highlights low-income students, families, neighborhoods and communities of color as social and educational assets to societies both nationally and internationally.
